Part 10: The True Wealth

Once the front doors closed behind Patricia for the final time, the heavy tension in the house instantly lifted. It was as if a dark cloud had been forcefully blown away.

Emiliano turned to face the staff. "I owe all of you an apology. For my absence. For my blindness. From today onward, things will change."

He dismissed the staff, but asked Rosa to stay.

Rosa stood by the kitchen doorway, her hands trembling slightly, the adrenaline of the ordeal finally catching up to her.

Emiliano walked over to her. The powerful billionaire, a man who commanded boardrooms and industries, bowed his head in deep respect to his housekeeper.

"Rosa," he said gently. "You protected my girls when I was too blind to see the danger right in front of me. You stood between them and a monster, knowing it could cost you your livelihood. I can never repay that."

"I love them, Mr. Duarte," Rosa said softly, wiping a stray tear from her cheek. "They are good girls. They didn't deserve that."

"No, they didn't. And neither did you." Emiliano looked at her. "Your salary is tripled, effective immediately. Furthermore, I am setting up a trust fund for your own daughter’s college education. You are no longer just staff, Rosa. You are the guardian of this family."

Daniela and Martina ran across the foyer, throwing their arms around Rosa’s waist, burying their faces in her apron. Rosa hugged them back tightly, tears of relief falling freely.

Emiliano watched them, a profound sense of peace washing over him. He had spent his life accumulating wealth, building empires, and chasing success. But as he looked at the quiet maid who had shown more courage, loyalty, and love than anyone he had ever met, he realized a hard truth.

True wealth wasn't kept in bank accounts or displayed in diamond bracelets. True wealth was the loyalty of the people who protected your light when you were lost in the dark.

And from that day forward, Emiliano Duarte's eyes were wide open.
