Part 3: The Ghost in the Machine

Alejandro’s realization came with the force of a physical blow. He immediately called his head of security, Marcus, a man who had served the Valmont family for three decades.
"Marcus, pull the encrypted archives from the night of the crash," Alejandro commanded, his voice tight. "Don’t use the main servers. Use the offshore relay."
Hours later, the evidence arrived. As Alejandro scrubbed through the raw data of the GPS tracking from that night, he saw something that made his hands tremble. There had been a second vehicle—a black SUV with its transponder masked—tailing Elena’s car minutes before the crash. The vehicle hadn't just followed her; it had forced her off the road.
The plate number was untraceable, a ghost in the system. But the route the SUV took after the crash led to a private airstrip owned by a holding company Alejandro had never heard of: Apex Holdings.

He cross-referenced the registry. The majority shareholder wasn't Vivian. It was a name he hadn't spoken in years: Julian Valmont. His own younger brother.
Alejandro stared at the screen, the betrayal burning deeper than any business loss could. Julian had always been the black sheep, the one who envied Alejandro’s position, his wealth, and, most cruelly, his wife. The realization was a labyrinth of pain. Julian had been the one to orchestrate the "accident," and Vivian had simply been the one to profit from the aftermath, believing she had captured a trophy she could eventually claim as her own.
